SUU’S DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC PRESENTS THE
PIANO ENSEMBLE IN RECITAL,
APRIL 15, 2013

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Take pleasure in the harmonious talents of SUU’s Piano Ensemble from the Department of Music in this end-of-year recital. The Piano Ensemble will perform on Monday, April 15, 2013 at a special time of 6:00pm in the intimate Thorley Recital Hall within SUU’s Music Building. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

SUU’s Piano Ensemble will perform an exciting repertoire of musical selections. Under the direction of Dr. Christian Bohnenstengel, the Piano Ensemble will perform the always-beloved Eine kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Plenty o Nuttin’, Summertime, and It Ain’t Necessarily So by George Gershwin, and the lively Gypsy Song (arranged by Mark Nevin). They will also perform Rondella Aragonesa by Enrique Granados arranged by Phyllis Gunther, the recognizable Serenade by Franz Shubert arranged by Edwin McLean, the traditional Amazing Grace arranged by Chris Lobdell, and the energetic Ein Spanier für Elise by Michael Proksch. The piano ensemble consists of Sasha Bainson, Yu Yuan Fuh, Catherine Gardner, Rashelle Jensen, Jackie Joseph, Kendra Leavitt, Jacob Lee and Ye Zi.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration and the new Shakespeare Studies program. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College. Over 1100 students enroll each year in over 195 arts classes on the SUU campus. The College presents 100 performances, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions each year. The College’s affiliate organizations include the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, American Folk Ballet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the SUU Ballroom Dance Company.
