It has been an astonishing 5th year for the Community Foundation of Utah. Thanks to a growing awareness of our flexibility, innovation and service, the foundation grew its historic assets from $11.5 to $29.5 million in 2013! Additional planned gifts bring the total to over $31 million.
We are grateful for the 125 individuals, families, corporations and foundations who share our vision to be a driving force in improving Utah’s future.
We are especially indebted to the foresight of our three founders, Greg Warnock, Jeramy Lund and Scott Macquarie, and our Vice Chair Mary Hall. Their enterprising spirits have created an organization that will be here for good, and forever.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award is the most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. We are lucky – Utah is the only state that honors those who have developed innovative ways to solve complex social problems. The company may be a nonprofit, a for profit or a hybrid. The Community Foundation of Utah, a proud sponsor of the event, nominates individuals in the Social Entrepreneur category, and we would be happy to consider your participation. Learn more here.

Greg Warnock, Chair of the Board, is delighted to announce that Blake Modersitzki, and Devin Thorpe (pictured) have been elected to serve as members. Blake joined Pelion Venture Partners as a Managing Director in 2002, after 13 years as an executive with Novell and WordPerfect Corporation. Devin Thorpe is an author, a "champion of social good" and an expert in crowd funding. Both bring entrepreneurial, finance and investment experience to our body.
We are also grateful to outgoing members Sharon Cook, Senior Vice President for Mountain America Credit Union, and Scott McQuarrie, one of our founding members, for their service. They both joined the organization when it was little more than an idea, and we could never have grown this quickly without their counsel and support.
