PETER AND THE WOLF is an interactive journey through the classic story of the hungry wolf, the ill-fated duck, the fortunate cat, the fearless little bird, and the brave and cunning Peter.  After more than 30 performances with a solo piano in partnership with the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation, hear Jay Perry (under the direction of Christy Summerhays) narrate this timeless tale, backed by an 85-piece orchestra as part of Salt Lake Symphony's Family Concert: Symphonic Stories!  PETER AND THE WOLF shares the bill with Smith's THE GREAT LOCOMOTIVE CHASE, Grieg's IN THE HALL OF A MOUNTAIN KING,  Gregson-Williams' CHRONICLES OF NARNIA SUITE and an excerpt from the last movement of Rimsky Korsakov's SCHEHERAZADE.

The 45-minute program also features two short pieces from Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation:  Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's SONATA IN C MAJOR and Aaron Copland's "Hoe-Down" from his ballet RODEO, both featuring Kary Billings on piano.
