The Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents Dr. Michael Palumbo in a faculty viola recital, assisted by Gerta Wiemer, piano, and Viktor Uzur, cello, on Monday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allred Theater, Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts. This is a free performance, and it is open to the public. Children 8 years and older are welcome to attend.
This short recital will open with J.S. Bach’s Suite No. 3 in C. Paul Hindemith’s Sonata for Viola and Piano, Opus 25, No. 4 will follow the Bach. Next, Viktor Uzur will join Palumbo for another Hindemith piece, the Duett for Viola and Cello.
Gerta Wiemer is an adjunct faculty member at WSU where she teaches private lessons and Class Piano. Dr. Viktor Uzur is assistant professor of cello at WSU.
Michael Palumbo is currently in his 29th year as a member of the faculty at WSU. In addition to conducting and administering the orchestra program and teaching viola, he is the violist with the Browning String Quartet, the associate principal violist of the Ballet West Orchestra, and is an assistant conductor for Ballet West.
