Mr. Lee was active in coordinating the event in past years but now that responsibility is turned over to his colleague, Melanie Swann, art educator at Woods Cross High School. She was assisted this year by Stephen Boemhe – art educator from Viewmont High School, Sunny Magee – art Educator from Bountiful High School, Todd Young – art educator from Syracuse High School, Jay Nolan – art educator from Fairfield Jr. High School (who coordinated the Jr. High School portion of the exhibit) and Donna Croft, Fine Arts Supervisor from the Davis School District.

“BDAC thanks the art teachers of Davis School District for their involvement in furthering the high quality of arts education in the area. It is evident by the art represented in this exhibit that the arts programs in Davis High School are of high quality and value. I realize that these art educators give much more time and resources than are required in their contracts. Many of them came to help with the exhibit during their Spring break and used personal resources in helping the students frame the pieces that were included in the exhibit. Their dedication is translated into the fine works of art that are now exhibited at Bountiful/Davis Art Center. At a time when resources are constrained, these teachers provide exceptional and plentiful professional and personal skills toward improving the lives of their students through the arts,” says Emma J. Dugal, Executive Director, Bountiful/Davis Art Center.

Select works of art by Davis School District Art Educators are on display in the North Gallery of BDAC.

The exhibit continues through May 6, 2011. BDAC is open Tuesday-Friday, 10am-6pm and Saturdays, 2-5pm during the exhibit.
