and Ogden’s Union Station
What: Jazz at the Station with WSU Jazz Combo
When: Wednesday, 13 April 2011 • 7:00 pm
Where: Grand Lobby, Union Station, 2501 Wall Avenue in Ogden
Jazz at the Station, a monthly program designed to give local jazz fans and performers an opportunity to meet and enjoy jazz, presents the WSU Jazz Combo Wednesday, April 13, at 7:00 pm in the Grand Lobby of Ogden’s Union Station. This is a free performance. Well-behaved children are welcome.
This spring’s Jazz Combo personnel includes Daniel Winsor, trumpet; Ben Yuill, violin; Casey Wood, piano; Clint Stanger, bass; and Bobby Gilgert, drums. The musicians are also a part of the larger WSU Jazz Ensemble but spend extra hours honing their jazz skills by working in this second group. They don’t get extra credit - just extra good experience in ensemble and improvisation. Their repertoire includes jazz standards as well as more contemporary jazz.
Jazz at the Station provides an all-ages venue for jazz fans and students. Well behaved children are welcome to attend as long as they do not disturb the performers or members of the audience.
