JOB: Salt Lake Art Center Looking for Docents for "Art Fitness" Exhibit

EXCLUSIVE DOCENT OPPORTUNITY

Salt Lake Art Center is looking for volunteer Docents to guide a nationally recognized contemporary art tour program “Art Fitness”, in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, coming to SLAC summer 2011. Docents are required to sign up for 2-3 shifts per year. Each shift consists of 3 consecutive weeks of programming for 2 hours per week. Selected docents are required to attend a mandatory (and fun) training session on April 15th from 12-4pm with Adam Lerner, Director of MCA Denver. This position requires a welcome and professional manner, effective verbal communication skills, a sense of humor, a willingness to dress in sports uniforms (think Olivia Newton John or John McEnroe), and preferably a background or education in the Arts. Additional training sessions with SLAC staff will be required per exhibition/collection. This opportunity provides Docents a unique professional development opportunity, exposure to a variety of art institutions and collections in Salt Lake City, and most of all FUN!
