Lily Tomlin was named “Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic” by the American Comedy Awards. She won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her one-woman show, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. Over her 40-plus year career, she has won two Tonys, two Peabodys, six Emmys, a Grammy, the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards, plus the Mark Twain Prize for American humor. She has performed on numerous television shows, including Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, Sesame Street, Saturday Night Live, The Magic School Bus, Will and Grace and The West Wing. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Robert Altman’s Nashville, and has also appeared in 9 to 5, All of Me, The Incredible Shrinking Woman, I Heart Huckabees and Prairie Home Companion, among many others.
