Anne Marie Gardner, Chair of The Friends, is pleased to announce that proceeds from this event go to support of the Braithwaite, special Friends’ sponsored exhibitions, educational outreach and the future Southern Utah Museum of Art. In addition, the evening will be hosted by Brian Vaughan, co-artistic director of the Utah Shakespeare Festival and an alumnus of Southern Utah University.

This year’s auction offers a wide spectrum of visually dynamic media including paintings, drawings, prints, photography, ceramics, jewelry and other unique works of art by some of the finest artists in the Southwest including works by popular favorites as Arlene Braithwaite, Royden Card, Richard Hardin, J. Brad Holt and Kate Starling. Because of the overwhelming response, the portfolio of art for live and silent bidding will be jury selected in order to showcase the highest quality art. Please visit www.suu.edu/pva/artgallery/auction/ beginning February 23, 2012 to preview the items that will be up for live and silent auctions.

Looking ahead, the Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery will be sponsoring Everything in Between: Art Quilts, Fabric Collage and Embroidery, a remarkable retrospective of fiber art featuring national and international artists curated by SUU’s Deborah Snider. The exhibition is scheduled to open September 27, 2012, running through November 10, 2012.
