Auditions for “Xanadu” at The Grand Theatre
The Grand Theatre, located at 1575 South State Street, Salt Lake City, will be holding auditions for “Xanadu” on Saturday, February 25, 2012. The auditions will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the Annex, located at 1610 South 250 East, in the south east corner of the South City Campus. Jim Christian will be directing the production and it will run May 10 – 26, 2012 in the Grand Theatre. Rehearsals will begin March 26.
Those wishing to audition will need to call the Grand Theatre box office at (801) 957-3322 to schedule an audition time. Each actor will have 3-5 minute time slot. We are looking for actors who are skilled at singing in parts and recommend that their audition includes 32 bars from a pop song of the 1980s. An accompanist will be provided. Actors who have roller skating skills are encouraged to bring their own skates to the audition to demonstrate their skating skills. For the audition, roller blades are also acceptable, but the production will be done using roller skates. Actors that are invited to callbacks will be asked to perform a dance routine.
