FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
SALT LAKE ACTING COMPANY ANNOUNCES DOTTIE-THE SISTER LIVES ON! CIRCLE OF LOVE FUNDRAISER

In conjunction with Salt Lake Acting Company’s World Premiere Production DOTTIE-THE SISTER LIVES ON! we are excited to announce our ‘Circle of Love’ Fundraiser on February 17, 2012 at 6:00PM. Tickets for the fundraiser are $100 and include catered dinner from Stoneground, drinks, admission to the show, and a mix-and-mingle with Sister Dottie S. Dixon herself! The ‘Circle of Love” Fundraiser is a way for our community to take a step further to recognize a belief in social change as well as support SLAC’s mission to develop and produce new work by local playwrights.

An activist Mormon mother of a gay son, Sister Dottie loudly and proudly welcomes us into her “Spanish Fark” life as she deals with love, loss, sex tapes, and casserole recipes. In her new play directed by Robin Wilks-Dunn, Sister Dottie weaves in and out of direct contact with the audience and her BFF, Dartsey, exchanging hilarious stories and touching life lessons.

Theatre at its best is about being brave, entertaining, enlightening, and connecting us viscerally to the work; DOTTIE – THE SISTER LIVES ON! does exactly that. Sister Dottie explores vividly through humor and touching poignancy what are becoming unacceptable trends in our society.  She stands strong against bullying, violence and LGBT suicide, and chooses the love of family over religion.  We believe in this artistic campaign which offers hope to future generations, inspires us to live authentically and to love unconditionally.  Supporting SLAC in its endeavor to advocate equality is as easy as taking an unforgettable journey with Sister Dottie in the ‘Circle of Love.’
