The Conversion of the Jews, by Philip Roth.
Directed by Ron Frederickson
This story is included in Roth's 1960 National Book Award winner Goodbye Columbus and Five Short Stories. It is a hilarious and touching account of young Ozzie Freedman's ongoing theological debate in Hebrew School with the unben-ding Rabbi Binder, and how the boy pupil -- having escaped to a perch on the Synagogue roof -- becomes the teacher.
