Price, UT - The Utah Commission on Service &
Volunteerism (UCSV) has announced the recipients of the 2013 Eastern
Region Lieutenant Governor´s Volunteer Awards as well as the 2013
Lieutenant Governor's Civic Volunteer of the Year Award:
Michael S. Milovich, 2013 Lieutenant Governor's Civic Volunteer of the Year Award
Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country; 2013 Eastern Region Volunteer Program of the Year Award
Danette Johnson; 2013 Eastern Region Adult Volunteer of the Year Award
Sarah Swasey; 2013 Eastern Region Youth Volunteer of the Year Award
The
regional award winners will be honored October 2nd, 11:50 a.m., at the
2013 Lieutenant Governor's Eastern Region Volunteer Recognition and
Awards Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at the USU Eastern Campus,
Jennifer Leavitt Student Center in Price.
UCSV is pleased to announce David Litvack as the
luncheon keynote. David recently retired as a member of the Utah State
House of Representatives where he served twelve years in the State
House, and as the Minority Leader for four years. The title of his
keynote address is: The Power & Potential of Volunteerism: How
Volunteerism Changes Lives and Much More!
In conjunction with the luncheon, UCSV will be
hosting the Lt. Governor´s Eastern Region Conference on Service that day
at the Student Center from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Conference is
dedicated to improving volunteer management in Utah and attendees
represent the nonprofit, government, faith-based, and corporate
sectors.
The conference will offer nine workshops centered on
volunteer management best practices in Utah. Presenters were chosen
from local organizations such as the USU Eastern SUN Center, ETV 10
News, Moab Valley Multicultural Center, and more!
