Art Instructor @ Bad Dog Arts


Salary:
Job Description: Bad Dog Arts is searching for a professional artist who wants to combine his/her skills with our talented team in a challenging, rewarding environment. Position provides art instruction for youth in Bad Dog’s programs.

Primary Duties:
• Meet on a regular basis with Programs Coordinator to evaluate success of projects and classes.
• Organize and create project lesson plans; prepare and gather materials before class.
• Provide class outlines, lesson plans, and materials lists to Programs Coordinator at least two weeks before class is scheduled to begin.
• Assess age appropriateness of lessons and materials in the classroom.
• Perform demonstrations for the class on technique and process; provide assistance to students with the completion of art projects.
• Supervise classroom assistants and volunteers.
• Collect art materials; clean classroom after class; return materials to studio.

General Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts is required; two years teaching experience is preferred
• Cultivate positive interaction with students, teachers, and administrative staff
• Well versed in various art forms; excellent artistic, research, and organizational skills
• Must be able to multi-task; flexible in creative and sometime chaotic environment
• Successful candidate will need a reliable source of transportation with proper insurance and a valid driver’s license.
• Flexible schedule
• Must pass annual background check
