Choirfest will present an original work by Rawson Butts, student Assistant Conductor, entitled “Little Lamb,” set to a text by William Blake; and Mark Henderson’s “A Light Exists in Spring,” to a poem by Emily Dickinson.
Also featured will be Debussy’s “Trois Chansons,” and Eric Whitacre’s “Lux Aurumque.” Whitacre’s piece has enjoyed YouTube fame for the past year, when presented by a “virtual choir” of 185 voices from around the world in a live broadcast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7o7BrlbaDs More about this project can be found at http://ericwhitacre.com/the-virtual-choir
