Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents the WSU 2012 Marching Band Review at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, in the Stewart Stadium. The review is an evaluated exhibition featuring high school marching bands. Tickets are $7/person or $35/family and can be purchased in advance through Dee Events Center Tickets, 1-801-626-7000 or on-line at weberstatetickets.com.
The high school bands entered in the Review have included American Fork, Bear River, Bingham, Copper Hills, Davis, Lehi, Mountain Crest, Provo, Skyview, Uintah, Viewmont, Westlake, and more.
Marching Band Review has a new director this year, Dr. Shannon Roberts, replacing Dr. Donald Keipp, who retired this past spring. This will be a good chance for local and regional band director and their students to connect with Weber’s newest band faculty.
WSU Director of Bands, Dr. Thomas Root, says, “With our excellent panel of adjudicators for this year’s event, including Frank Dorritie, Joe Haworth, Mike Turner, Sam Bryson and others, we provide a great opportunity for high bands to get feedback on their programs. And, our stadium is a beautiful setting for band music along the Wasatch.”
