“Piano Sound Waves control Light Waves”
SALT LAKE CITY—LED lights contolled by vibrations from a piano allow audience members
to cross boundaries of musical and visual perception. As part of “Green- nature vs. technology”, Mundi Project Piano Ambassadors will perform repertoire including works of Haydn, Moszkowski, Schubert, and Prokofiev on November 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sorenson Unity Center located at 1383 South 900 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sound waves created by the piano (“Nature”) will conduct a LED lighting (“Technology”) display as the audience experiences music through sound, light sculptures, art, and various vantage points much like a Japanese Zen garden. In preparation for the concert, The Mundi Project and Visual Art Institute worked with Neighborhood House students in creating the stage-set.
This event is free to the public; however, donation are welcome in support of The Mundi Project’s mission of providing youth access to pianos and innovative performance opportunities that incorporate all of the arts.
