Time Capsule: A Century of Dance
November 16-17, 2012 | 7:30 pm
A guided tour through a 100 year legacy of dance, Time Capsule is an informative multi-media retrospective, paying homage to the ingenuity, creativity and inventive spirit of legendary 20th century choreographers.

Repertory Dance Theatre's prestigious historical repertory highlights the birth and evolution of an art form, and ties each piece to the social and political environment in which it was created. Covering everything from the early years of modern dance to today's finest choreographers, this one of a kind performance not only lives, but breathes, sweats, and leaps.

“RDT follows the development of American dance…with such total identification and vivacity that one could believe they actually were the pioneers of those early days with their passion for uprising and revolt against the conventions of the classics.” (Linda Zamboni, Die Presse, Vienna).

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Tanner Dance, this Utah dance staple will be performing "75 Wishes."

“Our Ring Around the Rose performance celebrates the seventy-five year legacy of the Tanner Dance Program," says Joni Wilson, dance specialist of the Tanner Creative Dance Program. "For all children, we wish to share this Tanner Dance legacy of 'creating worthwhile human beings, one dancer at a time.' Come share wishes, sing along and watch children dance and rejoice in dreaming dreams and making wishes.”

Virginia Tanner (1915 - 1979), founder of the Virgina Tanner Creative Dancer Program, was guided by the premise that : "The motivating force behind my work is not only developing excellent dancers, but more importantly, developing young people who are useful, imaginative, worthwhile human beings."

Come to celebrate this impressive milestone with some of Utah's most talented young dancers.
Tickets: $5 (not including fees) and free for ages 2 and under
