DOWNTOWN STEPS UP HOLIDAY PARKING PREP
Salt Lake City (Nov. 20, 2012) – Downtown leaders are relying on a combination of technology, on-the-ground outreach and new parking inventory to accommodate an expected record number of celebrants during theholiday season. New shops at The Gateway, Main Street, Broadway and City Creek Center are expected to attract thousands of additional shoppers. In addition to new shopping choices, downtown will also attract thousands for holiday concerts at Temple Square and Abravanel Hall, Utah Jazz Games, Nutcracker performances, ice skating, and a new Downtown Holiday Market at Gallivan Plaza.
“We are running a new free Jingle Bus to help move people through downtown,” said Jason Mathis, Downtown Alliance executive director. “With stops at The Gateway, Temple Square, City Creek Center and Gallivan Plaza, we’re trying to encourage people to park once but access all of downtown on the Jingle Bus and the TRAX free fare zone.”
