New Vine St. Holiday Market on Historic Murray Property
Featuring handcrafted art, artisanal foods, select vintage wares, and local music

Salt Lake City – The Vine St. Holiday Market is launching its inaugural season with a focus on locally made items, art, jewelry, vintage wares and artisanal food. Over 25 vendors will fill the space located in a charming former church—built in 1906—in the historic district of Murray, UT (184 East Vine Street). The market opens for the holiday season on December 1, 2012 and continues every Sat., and one Sun. (Dec 16); 10 a.m.-3 p.m. through Dec. 22, 2012.

“I’ve always been a big fan and supporter of local, artisan handcrafted work and we happen to be a community rich with amazing artists finding creative ways to express their art,” said Stacey Richards, market organizer.  “The market will showcase a select handful of these artists and present an opportunity for the public to meet and support them in a quaint, holiday environment. It will be a perfect place to spend a Saturday afternoon.”

This indoor market offers a unique shopping experience where visitors will find one-of-a-kind gifts and meet an array of local artists and food purveyors such as:

Mia Empanadas Factory – Freshly baked homemade empanadas, tamales and salsas
Crumbs Wholesale Bakery – Cheesecakes, cakes
Unhinged – Modern, vintage, and locally made clothing, accessories, and gifts for men, women, and kids
Jess Ivie Ceramics – Artisan Pottery
Beehive Soap and Body Care – Handcrafted soap and body products
The Great Glass B – Handmade glass bead jewelry
Pure Bodywork – Soothing chair massage

Little Brown Wren – Vintage repurposed jewelry
Haus of Mirth – Edgy, upcycled vintage fashion
Local Music – A collection of music from the local pool of talented musicians and bands
And many more…

Market goers will enjoy a lively, festive atmosphere with delicious eats, live music, and giveaways.

Submissions are now being accepted from local artists, crafters, and designers with handcrafted goods. Prices are $40 per booth per day with vendor incentives upon additional dates booked.

“It’s community markets like this that support local artists and small upcoming businesses looking to branch out. Our little city is bursting with talent and your dollar goes a lot further when you spend it with local businesses and markets such as Vine St.” said Stacey Jo Rabiger, artist with Ker-ij Jewelry.

“As a local artist, I am very excited to be involved in the Vine St Market. I have participated in many holiday shows over the years and am impressed with the quality of artisans that Stacey has brought together in one place. Please come check us out!” said Bonny Waters Mullins, glass artist with The Great Glass B.

Artists, please contact vsholidaymarket@gmail.com to reserve your space.

Admission to the market and parking are free; the Murray Central TRAX Station located at 140 W. Vine St. (5144 S.) is within easy walking distance.
