NEWS: Two Charity Items Worth 4 Million Dollars Being Auctioned

Two Charity Items Worth 4 Million Dollars Being Auctioned

If Sold This Will Be Largest Online  Charity Auction Ever

CharlestonSC - Wounded Nature – Working Veterans is taking advantage of eBay’s success at selling high dollar auction items for non-profits.  Earlier this year eBay was able to generate a bid of more than 3.4 million dollars for a non-profit when a lunch with Warren Buffett was listed on their website.

“We believe eBay not only has the reach with senior executives at major corporations, but also with high net worth individuals” states Rudy Socha, CEO of Wounded Nature – Working Veterans.

Wounded Nature – Working Veterans, an IRS approved 501c3 non-profit, will be placing a boat on the west coast and several on the east coast to clean up marine litter along rural shorelines.  They will be hiring unemployed veterans to live aboard the boat and perform the clean-up work.  Currently, in most states, there is no funding available for cleaning up areas other than the main public beaches.  Most ocean related non-profits only stage one annual beach clean-up to generate publicity for their organization.  Wounded Nature works to clean up the environment year round.  They are auctioning opportunity to sponsor their boat in the West Coast and one of their East Coast boats for an entire year.  The sponsorship allows the winning bidder to brand, skin the boat, and reap the publicity benefits of the sponsorship.

“We think it would be great to acquire at least one family sponsorship and have them work as a team on the branding scheme for a boat.  There will also be links back to their family website from ours.”

“The value of the West Coast boat is 2.5 million and for an East Coast boat it is 1.5 million.  It would be fantastic if we could hit or exceed those amounts, but what is important is to obtain branding partners and get our boats underway.”

The first place the East Coast boat will visit is the Hurricane Sandy impact area.  Initially our boats will be able to assist disaster officials in moving supplies and people.

After that, we will assist these areas in getting their beaches back in shape allowing for tourists to arrive in the summer and aid in restoring the local coastal economies.  We will then start cleaning the debris that has washed over into the estuaries behind the outer islands.  These are critical wildlife areas used for breeding and raising young.

Bidding started on November 12 and will end on November 21.  You can participate or view progress at www.ebay.com/woundednature
