3 New Exhibits @ Bountiful/Davis Art Center (Bountiful: May 13 - June 20)

Bountiful/Davis Art Center Presents Three Exhibits, May 13 – June 20, 2011


Painting from ’90 Days of Improvisation’ by Merrily Kulmer

April 28, 2011, Bountiful, Utah - Bountiful/Davis Art Center will host three new exhibits starting on May 13:

§ It’s Not Just Black & White – featuring Merrily Kulmer’s improvisational abstracts; Shey Rauch’s camouflage, black and white series and uniquely designed jewelry from Reba Rauch with mini-sculptures as pendants.

§ Related – Marinus Wolf and Linnie Brown, a father and daughter, pair-up in an exploration of language with colorful, geometric compositions.

§ Drawn to Life: Life Drawing and the Development of the Artist – An informal exhibit featuring life drawings from local artists with the purpose of educating the community on the role drawing from life plays in the development of an artist. The exhibit features drawings from artists in varying stages of their development from student through seasoned professional. Some of the artists are Robert Barrett, Leon Parson, Jerry Weiss, Mike Call, Glen Hawkins, Robert McKay, Christopher Thornock, Dean Keller, Michal Onyon, members of the BDAC Life Drawing class and more.

The Life Drawing class is offered on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm-9:00pm at Bountiful/Davis Art Center (745 S. Main Street in Bountiful). The Monitored Life Drawing sessions (no instruction) give artists an opportunity to draw from a live model. The models are draped/costumed the first two weeks of the month and undraped the second two weeks of the month. (18 years or older only). Robert McKay and Mike Call facilitate the sessions.

The exhibit begins on Friday, May 13 with an Opening Reception that is free to the public from 7-9pm in the evening. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Rob McKay and Mike Call will do a drawing from life in the Drawn to Life exhibit gallery.
