162-suite property, includes a Shula’s 347 Grill, a cornerstone of West Valley City Fairbourne Station redevelopment project. 
West Valley City, UT (February 14, 2013) – A new 162-room Embassy Suites has been completed near the intersection of 3500 West and 2700 South in West Valley City. Construction began in 2011 and the Grand Opening of the $33 million project was celebrated on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. The gala included an official ribbon cutting ceremony and silent auction to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children. 
Local business and political leaders in attendance included West Valley City Mayor Michael Winder; Karen Lang, Corey Rushton, Donald G. Christensen, Tom Huynh, Steve Buhler, Steve Vincent of West Valley City Council; Nicole Cottle Deputy City Manager for West Valley City; Alan Anderson, Chamber of Council, along with key stakeholders from the hotels Development and Management groups: West Valley Lodging Initiatives, Embassy Suites Hotels and Renascent Hospitality.  
Don Shula, owner of Shula’s Steak House and winningest coach in NFL history, hosted a VIP dinner at Shula’s 347 Grill, located on the Embassy Suites property. This rare opportunity to meet Coach Shula was highlighted with the 1972 Miami Dolphins Super Bowl trophy on display. Kevin Martin and MJ Miller from Shiner’s Hospital for Children accepted a donation of over $4300 in proceeds from the silent auction held in the casual gourmet restaurant. 
The seven-story Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City is located near the Valley Fair Mall and is the cornerstone of a $500 million Dollar Fairbourne Station Redevelopment project being put on by West Valley City.  “We are very excited to open a beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel as the cornerstone for the Fairbourne Station Redevelopment Project in West Valley City. ” says Jim Burkett, General Manager of the Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City. “We are equally as excited to bring back to the Salt Lake area, and in particular to West Valley City, a great restaurant group such as Shula’s.”
In addition Burkett mentions that this is the first Embassy Suites Hotel to have one of the Shula’s Concepts in it. 
Currently the only Embassy Suites Hotel in Utah, the property employs a staff of 80, with an additional 35 at Shula’s 347 Grill. Each hotel room is a two-room suite whose guests will have access to an indoor saline pool and a manager’s reception each evening. A cooked to order breakfast is one of the pillars of the Embassy Suites brand, which is available to guests at this location. 
“We are excited to bring our winning tradition to this new growing market in Salt Lake/West Valley City, UT,” says Hall of Fame Football Coach Don Shula, the winningest Coach in NFL history. 
 Shula’s 347 Grill can accommodate 70 patrons in the dining room, 39 in the outdoor patio area and another28 patrons at the bar. The restaurant can also cater to private groups of up to 40 guests.  “We are happy to have the opportunity to be a part of the rebirth of West Valley City by opening our Shula’s 347 Grill,” said Dave Shula, President of Shula’s Steak Houses, LLLP. “We are also proud to be a part of the new Embassy Suites prototype in Salt Lake/West Valley City.”
