Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents the Weber State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael A. Palumbo, in its third concert of the 2012-13 season Sunday, February 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Austad Auditorium of the Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts. Well-behaved children 8 years and older are welcome to attend.
As is the orchestra’s custom, this concert is shared with the Bonneville Youth Orchestra conducted by Samuel Runolfson.The BYO will open the concert with several selections, after which the WSSO will take the stage. They will open their section with the Overture to ”The Magic Flute” by Mozart. This will be followed Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 (From the New World). Following a short intermission the orchestras will combine for a performance of Mikhail Glinka’s Overture to “Ruslan and Ludmilla,” conducted by Samuel Runolfson.
Tickets for the concert are $7 for adults and $6 for students, seniors and those with military I.D. They can be purchased in advance at Dee Events Center Tickets locations, by calling 1-800-626-7000, or on-line at weberstatetickets.com. WSU students who pick up a complementary ticket from the Department of Performing Arts office, room 331 in the Browning Center, will be admitted free.
