Salt Lake City, Utah –– The deadline is approaching for five scholarships for Utah students managed by the Community Foundation of Utah. Three of the scholarships will make their first awards in 2013.
· The Home Education Leadership Fund was established to support the college dreams of Utah students who have been home schooled.
· The Willy the Plumber Scholarship is available to enable children of inmates in correctional facilities to pursue a higher education.
· Addressing the needs of seniors at Escalante High School in Escalante, Utah, The Ostergar Grant Funds are made to encourage top students in each graduating class of to apply to the top tier universities across the country.
· The Equality Leadership Fund Scholarship is made to further the education or training of Utah students who have demonstrated leadership in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (“LGBTQ”) rights movement.
· The Youth Teaching Youth Scholarship is awarded to students who have been leaders in this Utah Museum of Natural History educational program.
