NEWS: Utah Heritage Foundation Seeking Cultural and Community Organizations to use Ladies Literary Club Building

In 2012, the Ladies’ Literary Club of Salt Lake City began their search for a non-profit to receive donation of their 1913 club building as their declining membership could not sustain its maintenance and operation.  Their goal was to find a steward that would maintain the legacy of the organization by preserving the building while still allowing the club to meet regularly at its historic clubhouse.  In January 2013, the Ladies’ Literary Club generously gifted their clubhouse to Utah Heritage Foundation.  The foundation plans to operate the building as a community event center once renovations are completed.

During this 100th anniversary of the Ladies Literary Club building, Utah Heritage Foundation is curating a cultural series that will honor each of the historic sections which are part of the legacy of the Ladies Literary Club, including Literature, Drama, History, Art, Music, Poetry, and Tourism.  The foundation is seeking cultural and community organizations that would like to use the building for rehearsals and performances during 2013 and 2014.  Rates for cultural and community organizations start at $25 per hour with discounts for full day and multiple day use.
