January 10 o 7pm o Carla Trentelman: "Big Smelly Salty Lake That I Call Home:" Living with Great Salt Lake
Carla Koons Trentelman is an assistant professor of Sociology. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at Utah State University in 2009. While excited by a wide variety of sociological topics, her primary interests include rural areas, communities, and especially natural resources and the environment-particularly issues related to Great Salt Lake.
Trentelman will talk about how Great Salt Lake affects the people who live closest to it, how they feel about the lake and what concerns they have about it. While highlighting research findings from a study of attitudes and perspectives of more than 400 residents using interviews, focus groups and a survey, the talk will also feature some of the varied responses to the study.
