Bountiful/Davis Art Center to Host Moving Sale, January 11-12, 9am -4pm
Bountiful, Utah, December 31, 2012–As
Bountiful/Davis Art Center prepares for the move to Farmington, we are
finding that we have several items that we cannot move as the space is
smaller than what we currently occupy. Therefore, BDAC will host a
‘MOVING SALE’ on January 11-12 from 9am-4pm. Some of the items
available are desks, chairs, display cases, tables, etc all at
rock-bottom prices. There will also be some art for sale at deeply
discounted prices. The public is welcome to join us at 745 So. Main
Street for this sale.
BDAC
will be at its temporary location at the Davis County Memorial
Courthouse starting in mid January. The address is 28 East State Street
in Farmington, located on the 2nd floor of the building.
Staff Members and volunteers including the Bountiful Lions Club have
been busy painting the new space in preparation for the move.
“Scott
Durrant, BDAC Board Member and Designer, has chosen a rich palette of
colors inspired by a LeConte Stewart painting. These colors include
yellows, greens, oranges, purples and blues. The offices, gift shop,
reception area and gallery spaces of BDAC will be very colorful and
aesthetically pleasing. The color scheme itself is a work of art and
I’m sure people will want to stop by just to see the paint on the walls
in addition to the exhibits,” says BDAC Director, Emma J. Dugal.
It will take approximately one month to prepare the space for BDAC to be fully operational.
The
first exhibit will be the Annual Statewide Competition featuring
professional artists living in Utah. It begins on February 22. Artists
may bring entries from February 4-9 from 10am-5pm.
Classes
will begin in February starting on February 4. Winter classes continue
through March though the Figure Painting class is ongoing.
Bountiful/Davis
Art Center has been serving the community with quality arts programs
since 1974. Its mission is to engage the community in quality artistic
and cultural program, provide educational experiences and encourage the
growth and expression of art.
BDAC
in grateful for all the support received while at this location and
looks forward to meeting new friends while in the temporary location.
The current building will be torn down and a new Bountiful City Hall
will be built in its place. Then the current City Hall will be
renovated for the Art Center, the History Center and the Joy
Foundation. It is expected to take about 2 ½ years.
