Salt Lake City – With the 2013 Masquerade Party just around the corner, the Utah Arts Festival Gallery has invited 12 local artists to create one of kind masks to include with its January show, “Iconic Figures.”
The Mask Exhibit promotes the Utah Arts Festival’s annual fundraising event while supporting and promoting the work of local artists, a key objective of the Gallery. All masks are for sale and can be worn at the Masquerade Party held February 23 at The Rail.
Twelve artists representing mediums from steel to mixed media, spray paint, leather, acrylic, and sculpted clay, donated their time and talents to participate in the first annual Mask Exhibit. Artists include Cassandra and Dan Barney, Garrick Dean, Amber DeBirk, Mason Fetzer, Sarinda Jones, Jim Madsen, Joey Maynard, Kali Mellus, Cat Palmer, John Rees, and James Rees.
The masks will be on display and available for purchase from Friday, January 18 through Friday, February 8, 2013.
The Masquerade Party and Texas Hold 'Em Tournament will take place February 23 from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. To better serve the needs of the growing event the party moves to The Rail Event Center, 235 N. 500 West in Salt Lake City. This event is for those 21 and older.
New this year, the Utah Arts Festival is offering tables of eight for $600. Individual tickets to the Masquerade Party are $50 each. The Texas Hold 'Em tournament begins at noon, with the final table at 7 p.m during the party. A suggested donation of $50 is requested to enter the Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament.
