Utah Opera invites media to final dress rehearsal for “Florencia en el Amazonas”
WHAT: Final Dress Rehearsal for Utah Opera production of Daniel Catan’s “Florencia en el Amazonas, “ a Spanish-language new romantic opera with colorful sets and costumes, lush music and plot/story elements based on magical realism, scheduled to run full performances Saturday, January 19 through Sunday, January 27.
WHO: Full Cast, Director, Conductor, Utah Symphony, specially invited high school student audience
WHEN: Thursday, January 17, 2013
6 p.m. – Limited interviews with cast and/or artistic staff available by appointment only.
7 p.m. – Dress rehearsal begins. Media can film and photograph rehearsal from special designated locations in theater mezzanine.
10 p.m. – Dress rehearsal ends.
WHERE: Capitol Theatre (50 W. 200 S.) – media should meet Hilarie Ashton (801-656-7385) in theater lobby to be escorted to special filming/viewing locations in mezzanine.
WHY: This will be the last chance for media to capture footage of the performance prior to the opening of the show, when filming will likely not be available. The production also marks Utah Opera’s first presentation of a Spanish-language opera for community members. More information about the performance is available in the attached press release.
** NOTE: All media should meet Hilarie Ashton (801-656-7385) in the lobby of the theatre to be escorted to special designated filming and viewing locations in the mezzanine. Limited interviews will be offered, and will only be available prior to the start of the rehearsal to those who schedule them in advance.**
