Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: SUU’s Art and Design Faculty are not only outstanding educators but they are also remarkable artisans. Their creativity and work will be showcased in the annual Art and Design Faculty Exhibit at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, February 7 through March 9, 2013. The exhibition is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 7:00pm. The event is free and open to the general public who are encouraged to attend.
This visually captivating collection features a diverse array of medium including photography, painting, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, sculpture, quilt art and much more. Featured artists include Eric Brown, Elayna Clegg, Rheana Gardner, Jessica Gerlach, Susan D. Harris, Jeffrey Hanson, Brian Hoover, Laurie Lisonbee, Andrew Marvick, Ladon Miller, Daniel Nydegger, Jeremias Paul, Alisa Petersen, Christopher Ralphs, Deborah Snider, Val Paul Taylor, Ron Spears and Russell Wrankle.
Reece Summers, Director of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, enthusiastically anticipates this annual exhibition. “The SUU Art and Design faculty work is a diverse range of medium but all is of an exceptional quality. Their work inspires and encourages the students to explore this own creative process. Our faculty members are all accomplished artists who have exhibited in museums and galleries all over the world."

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The Southern Utah University College of Performing and Visual Arts is comprised of nationally accredited departments of Art and Design, Music, Theatre Arts and Dance, as well as a graduate program in Arts Administration and a Center for Shakespeare Studies. The College offers 16 different degree areas, including liberal arts Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees; professional Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and theatre degrees; and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Administration degree. More than 60 full- and part-time faculty and staff are engaged in teaching and mentoring over 550 majors in the College. Over 1100 students enroll each year in over 195 arts classes on the SUU campus. The College presents 100 performances, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions each year. The College’s affiliate organizations include the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery, American Folk Ballet, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and the SUU Ballroom Dance Company.
