Bountiful/Davis Art Center - Annual Statewide Competition

Farmington, Utah, January 18, 2013- Bountiful/Davis Art Center will host the Statewide Competition as the first exhibit in the Farmington location. BDAC has recently moved into the Davis County Memorial Courthouse while its permanent home in Bountiful is being renovated. The Statewide Competition one of the longest-running juried visual arts exhibitions in Utah highlighting the works of Utah’s most creative visual artists. There will be an opening reception on February 22 from 7-9pm. The awards ceremony will begin at 8pm. The public will have the opportunity to tour the space that is occupied by BDAC. Hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment will round out the evening.
Important information about the exhibit for artists:
Eligibility: Open to all professional artists living in Utah.
Entry Criteria: A maximum of three entries per artist. Original work only, no copies, completed within the past two years and never before exhibited at the Bountiful/Davis Art Center. All entries must be dry, suitably framed, ready for hanging (this includes hooks and wires) and ready for installation.
Recieving: Tuesday, February 5 - Saturday, February 9 from 10:00am. to 5:00pm. No entries will be accepted after 5:00pm on the 9th.

Entries juried into the exhibit will be posted online at:
www.bdac.org, Friday, February 15.
Entries not juried in to be picked-up Tuesday, February 19 through Thursday, Thursday, February 21, from 10:00am. to 5:00pm.
Accepted Entries to be picked-up Tuesday, April 2 through Friday, April 5 from 10:00am. - 5:00pm.
Entry Fees: BDAC members $5.00 per entry. Non-members $10.00 per entry. All fees are non-refundable.
Awards:
1st place: $500 2nd place: $300 3rd place: $150.00
Juror: Mikell Stringham, a Utah native, is a young entrepreneur energetically pursuing an alternative business model with her gallery-without-walls, Mondo Fine Art.
Stringham received her B.A. in Business Marketing from the University of Utah. Passionate about art, she later moved to Italy, where she attended the Florence University of Art, studying photography, oil painting, interior design, and gallery management. Actively involved in the community, Stringham currently serves on the Utah Museum of Fine Art's Young Benefactors Executive Committee, and in the fall of 2009, she started a not-for-profit project, the International heART Exchange, that unites humanitarian organizations in an effort to connect children, on a global level, through the universal language of art.

● 5 February-9 February - entries accepted. No entries will be accepted after 5:00pm on 9 February.
● 19 - 21 February, 10:00am - 5:00pm - pick-up entries not juried into the show.
● 2 - 6 April, 10:00am - 5:00pm - pick-up accepted entries.
