Bountiful, Utah, December 27, 2012– At the December 5 Board Meeting of the Bountiful/Davis Art Center trustees, Sherry Rauch was elected as the new Chair after the resignation of Aida S. Mattingley who served for over 5 years in this position.

She has a BA in Graphic Design from The College of Design at Iowa State University, 1985, Executive Committee Member at Lamplight Art Gallery 2006-2007and an Art Director and Designer for over 25 years. “Sherry brings much energy and dedication to excellence to BDAC and its programs.  She has been tremendously helpful already, using her talents to bring a recognizable brand to BDAC.  She is an excellent leader and will take BDAC to a new level.  We are also very appreciative of the work Aida Mattingley has done for the Center these past 5 years,” says Emma J. Dugal, Executive Director of BDAC.

“I have am proud to be a part of Bountiful/Davis Art Center and the numerous educational programs and exhibits we provide to the community. The Center is growing and, thanks to Bountiful City, will soon have a more prominent location. Some of our plans for the future of BDAC involve partnering with more community businesses and involving more artists to join in our mission of encouraging the growth and expression of art,” says Sherry Rauch.

Aida Mattingley will continue on the Executive Committee as the ‘Advisor’.  The other members of the Executive Committee will be voted on at the January Board Meeting.

These changes come at a time of growth and change at BDAC as it is temporarily moving to the Davis County Memorial Courthouse in Farmington while its permanent home is being renovated.  BDAC is excited and energized by these new changes and looks forward to expanding its audience and impact.  All the programs of BDAC including Summerfest will continue during this interim period.  The first exhibit in the new space (2nd floor) of the building, will be the Statewide Competition that will begin on February 22, 2013.  Artists may submit works of art on February 5-9 from 10am-5pm.
