2012-13 GINA BACHAUER GOLD MEDAL CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES WITH ARTHUR GREENE
The 1978 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition Gold Medalist returns to
Salt Lake City February 8th for a solo performance at the Jeanne Wagner Theater, at 7:30 PM. Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center
, Arthur Greene studied at Juilliard. Mr. Greene was a Gold Medal winner in the William Kapell and Gina Bachauer International Piano Competitions, and a top laureate at the Busoni International Competition. He performed the complete solo piano works of Johannes Brahms in a series of six programs in New York , and recorded the Complete Etudes of Alexander Scriabin for Supraphon. He has performed the 10 Sonata Cycle of Alexander Scriabin in Boston Sofia, Kiev, , and other venues. Mr. Greene has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Salt Lake City and National Symphonies, the Czech National Symphony, the Tokyo Symphony, the National Symphony of Ukraine. He has played recitals in Carnegie Hall, San Francisco, Utah Kennedy Center, Moscow Rachmaninov Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Lisbon Sao Paulo Opera House, Hong Kong City Hall and concert houses in Shanghai and . He has toured Beijing 12 times. He was an Artistic Ambassador to Japan Serbia, Kosovo, and for the United States Information Agency. Bosnia
Arthur Greene’s program will feature the works of Alexander Scribian accompanied by a visual presentation. Mystic, visionary, virtuoso and composer, Scriabim dedicated his life to creating musical works, which would, as he believed, open the portals of the spiritual world.
