The Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery
Make Major Contribution
to the Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA)

Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: True friends are always there for you to make you look good and offer support and the Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery are true friends of art. On January 17, 2013, the Friends board came together to contribute $25,000 to the Southern Museum of Art which will be built on the campus of Southern Utah University. This donation brings the Friends three-year gift total to $75,000.

Anne Marie Gardner, Chair of The Friends, was enthusiastic about this donation. “I am so pleased that the Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery have been so successful in their fundraising efforts and have been able to make significant contributions to SUMA. We believe that this new museum will show the world that southern Utah is the home of great natural beauty and world class art.”

In addition to the donation, the Friends are planning the 21st Annual Art Auction, their chief fundraising event of the year. The Auction will be an 80th birthday celebration in honor of the late Jim Jones, the beloved regional painter. More information about the 21st Art Auction will be released at a later date.
The Friends of the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery is a non-profit group established in 1977, just one year after the Gallery was opened on the Southern Utah University campus.
