Nominations due for the 2013 Mayor's Artists Awards

Salt Lake City -- The Salt Lake City Mayor's Office and the Utah Arts Festival are seeking nominations for the 2013 Mayor's Artists Awards. Nominations for this year's awards must be received by Friday, March 1, 2013.

Since 1991, the Utah Arts Festival and the Office of the Mayor have honored contributors, organizations and individuals who have enriched Salt Lake City's arts community. Awards are presented for service to the arts, as well as for visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts. Mayor Ralph Becker will present awards to the 2013 honorees at the Utah Arts Festival in June.

Nomination forms may be downloaded from the Festival website (www.uaf.org).   Supporting materials addressing the criteria on the nomination form may include a résumé or vita, details on related awards and honors, clippings, reviews, and letter of recommendation. All materials must be submitted either electronically via the website, or on 81/2 x 11-inch paper, not exceeding 10 pages total.

A panel including representatives from the Office of the Mayor, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, the Utah Arts Festival, and past recipients of the Awards will jury nominees for the Mayor’s Artists Awards.
